About the Knowsley Safeguarding Adults Board (KSAB)
The Knowsley Safeguarding Adults Board (KSAB) is responsible for protecting and promoting the rights of adults in Knowsley to live independent lives free from abuse and neglect.
The KSAB is made up of representatives from Knowsley Council, Merseyside Police, and Knowsley Clinical Commissioning Group. It also works with other organisations across the statutory, voluntary, and community sectors to safeguard adults in Knowsley.
The KSAB has strong links with other local strategic partners, including the Knowsley Safeguarding Children Partnership.
About safeguarding adults
Safeguarding adults is about protecting adults from harm, abuse, and neglect. It is everyone's responsibility to help safeguard adults.
What the KSAB do
The KSAB sets the strategic direction for safeguarding adults in Knowsley. It also works to
- Raise awareness of safeguarding adults issues
- Promote best practice in safeguarding adults
- Coordinate the work of organisations involved in safeguarding adults
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of safeguarding adults services
